- Abstract
- The influence of an “extreme behavior” and a “level of professional achievements” factors on theindividual life expectancy was investigated through a twin-method study. 100 couples of monozygotic and72 of dizygotic twin-pairs of the same sex twins, who lived in the territory of Russia in the XX–XXI century,were examined. It was shown that the factors explored are independent despite the fact that an “extremebehavior” factor included professional variables (the individual choice of high-risk professions). It was shownthat these factors were under partial influence of heredity (24% for an “extreme behavior” factor and 26% fora “level of professional achievements” factor), and under a much greater cumulative effect of the general andclose environment (76% and 74%, respectively). Concerning the influence on the individual life expectancy,the effect of these two factors is quite the opposite. An “extreme behavior” lead to its decline, at the levelof statistical tendency, and the professional success and the high level of professional achievements lead toits significant increase. Thus, the effect a “level of professional achievements” factor was more significant,so it explained a lager percent of dispersion of the “individual life expectancy” variable in the monozygotictwin-pairs group
