- The article reveals the significance of the heritage of A.V. Brushlinsky and ideas of the subject approach developed by him in the domestic psychology for solving the main problems of the psychologyof self-development of the individual. The ability to self-development is revealed as an integral feature of the subject. Self-development is presented as an attribute of development and its special level with the dominant self-determinism and self-control of changes in the personality of the life path. The structure of the self-developing personality and the main features of the self-development process in the life-course scale are considered. It is indicated the value of self-consciousness in the realization of self-development. The possibilities of self-development for the development of personal potential and the development of individuality in the implementation of the strategy of life creation are shown
