- Abstract
- The review of modern foreign publications on conflicts in small groups based on analysis of 76 scientific articles (10 - theoretical, 3 - meta-analytical and 63 - empirical) published in 12 leading international journals on social and organizational psychology in 2000 - 2015 is presented. The analysis has been done in the following categories: dynamics of publications, the author's structure of publications, genre of publications, types of groups under study, research methods and procedures, fields and subjects of researches. Uneven character of dynamics in publishing activity on intra- and inter-groups conflicts has been revealed. The main attention has been paid to interpersonal conflicts in group, fewer - to intergroup conflicts and minimum - to person-group conflicts. The study of correlation between interpersonal and intergroup conflict is singular. There are no publications on conflicts between informal subgroups in group, between parson and subgroup. Study of simultaneously several orientations of conflict is presented in a number of articles. Predictors and determinants of a conflict, conflict as predictor or determinant of something are the most frequent topics for interpersonal conflicts while conflict as a condition (background), behavior, reaction in conflict and management (settlement) of a conflict - for intergroup conflicts. Typological approach to interpersonal conflict study has been used in about 40% of publications. Laboratory, industrial and students groups are mainly the object of a study; data acquisition is carried out by means of laboratory experiments and questionnaires.
