Abstract
This article examines the scientific, philosophical and psychological views of E. S. Kuzmin, his theoretical discoveries, methodological approaches, organizational efforts to create a new science of that time-social psychology in 1960-s of XX century. Comprehensive analysis of origin of individual and public consciousness allowed E. S. Kuzmin determine subject social psychology - communication of people at different levels: interpersonal, group, social. Great attention to the development of a methodology of social psychology focused E. S. Kuzmin. The application of experimental methods and techniques of observation, questionnaires, testing allowed social psychology discover new patterns and provide a real psychological help to people in the course of employment. The central place in social psychology takes the study groups and production teams. E. S. Kuzmin offers its own typology of group development. He examines the identity of both the unity of breeding and projections and identifies three types of personality: a strategist, tactician, and operacionalist.
