- The study presents validation of the Russian version of the Alabama Parenting Questionnaire - Brief Form (APQ-BF) for parent report in a sample of 297 children aged between 6 and 17 years. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the five factor model, the scales demonstrated satisfactory internal consistency. Correlations with lower- and higher order personality traits measured by parent reported Inventory of Child Individual Differences-Short version (ICID-S) and mental health problems measured by the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) supported validity of the Russian version of the APQ-BF. Gender and age differences supported the discriminative validity of the APQ-BF scales. Russian version of the APQ-BF has been shown to be a reliable and valid measure and is strongly recommended for studying parenting practices in families of school age Russian children.
