- Abstract
- The article describes a theoretical background of the concept of cognitive performance and the model of its quantitative assessment. It has been proposed to evaluate the level of cognitive performance as a function of three variables: the quality of the abstract-logical activity, the quality of sensorimotor activity and the ability to focus on the combined activity (both on the abstract-logical and sensorimotor activities). The test method of monitoring of the level of cognitive performance has been presented in details. This method allows evaluating an operator's cognitive performance based on the monitoring of its cognitive activity for five minutes. The results of the experimental study of cognitive performance of civil aviation pilots indicate the possibility of using the cognitive performance index to reduce risks in operator-dependent systems.
