Abstract

In the last decades in the social science is rejection of the dictates of “natural history” patterns of social change in favor of approval of the principle of “socio-historical” process. In it the crucial role is played by “active social actors”, which corresponds to the philosophical law about the increasing role of the subjective factor in the historical process. How big this role shows social practice. The need for discourse about social actors contemporary Russian history is updated the monograph of J. Toshchenko “Phantoms of the Russian society”. This book was published on the eve of the 25th anniversary of economic reforms.
