Abstract
Specific character of correlation between the level of development of psychometric intelligence and main parameters of person's metacognitive spheres are revealed and explained. Its regular and stable character that is described by the “optimum type” curve is specified. It has been shown that the highest level of intelligence is connected with the average (optimal) level of metacognitive processes, personal characteristics and their organization but not with minimal or maximal values. The interpretation of the regulation based on the three groups of causes: 1) general-system regularity according to which system's hyper-organization prevents it functioning; 2) objective conjugacy of high-level metacognitive control's development with a number of subject's qualities (neurotism, cognitive rigidity etc.); 3) transformation of synergy between objective laws of intelligence and metacognitive (viz subject's) subjective factors is proposed.
