Abstract

The creative field concept is drawn upon the seminal creativity theory developed by famous Russian psychologist Ya.A. Ponomarev. The current study was intended to examine the general field concept as Ponomarev investigated it and the creative field concept derived from his theory. The general field is a metaphysical concept which can be operationalized and then opens the door for empirical study. The creative field concept is designated to solve this issue discovering it through divergent thinking and variation constructs. They are twofold. First, they extend to the latent intuition as Ponomarev articulates it. Second, they are observable on the level of the creative field itself. The properties lend support to picture the creative field concept this way: quantity and discontinuity, generality and continuity, heterogeneous dimension, divergence and variation related.
