Abstract

The 1-st part of the paper reveals heuristic and prescriptive potentials of experimental methodology as a strategy to create new scientific psychological knowledge by means of empirical research in the framework of Ponomarev’s evolutionary epistemology. In accordance with experimental methodology, the formal definitions of method, investigation, subject and object of empirical research, rules of hypotheses generation, selection of alternatives and estimation of their verisimilitude are introduced. Possible approaches to empirical proofs of the ontology of the subject of research are assigned. Thus, experimental methodology is shown to be implemented as a hypothetic-reconstructive method that provides not only theoretical construction of the subject of research, but also their accessibility for empirical falsification. Experimental methodology eliminates the contraposition between theoretical and empirical knowledge and provides a radically new solution for the fundamental problem of philosophy of science concerning the relationship between them. According to this solution the methodology of psychology is generated in course of empirical research by investigators, as a members of paradigmal communities. Special attention is paid to the nomothetic orientation of experimental methodology, as well as its formal foundation and realization in research.
