- Abstract
Convergence of the results of scales of two tests - normative Cloninger's Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI-140) and ipsative motivational questionnaire “12 Factors of Motivation” by Sh. Ritchie and P. Martin with the results of generalized indices of content analysis of projective stories from the Test of Social Motivation (TSM) is analyzed. Though stimuli for TSM was designed under the influence of 12 factors of motivation model and opinion about the advantages of ipsative methods for motivation study is rather popular, much more significant correlations with normative personal inventory (TCI-140) were received. Complex and laborious for participants (N = 86) procedure of “12 Factors of Motivation” test can be a possible reason. The conclusion that insufficient attentions is paid to the problems of testing procedure laboriousness in modern discussions on methods of motivation and personality study is drawn.
