- Abstract
- The concept of “resilience” is considered. The relevance of the study of the social sphere professional’s resilience in the framework of the ecological approach is shown. Resilience is understood as stability, flexibility within the contexts in which professionals are living and working. The six-component structure of resilience, proposed by A.V. Makhnach, is the theoretical basis of the study. Such resilience components as self-efficacy, perseverance, internal locus of control, coping, social support, and spirituality are studied. The results of the study of 103 social sphere professionals’ resilience, working with orphans are given. Standardized tests are used. It is shown that the social sphere professionals’ resilience has a number of features. Professionals working in the sphere of orphanhood, really appreciate the resource of social support, particularly “significant others”, they have perseverance, pronounced internal locus of control in interpersonal relations. A number of professionals have the problem area in family resources, namely emotional connection. Professionals over the age of 35 have coping strategy with appealing to religion and God. The special role of the social support component in the structure of professionals’ resilience, who are working in the social sphere (social support of orphans) is proved.
