- Abstract
- The article deals with the analysis of texts which are well known in the history of Russian humanitarian thought as well as modern ones, devoted to the search for Russian national idea. The functions of national idea including the psychological ones referring to the sense of life, creation, identification, consolidation, construction, compensation are under analysis. It is underlined that the national idea creates the collective sense of the nation's existence, which makes projection at the level of individual senses. The psychological characteristics of the search for national idea in the history of Russian humanitarian thought are given. The state of national idea in modern Russia is described. The optimal variant of such idea for our country is depicted. The results of investigations, demonstrating in what way, to the Russians' opinions, our country has to develop, are presented.
