- Abstract
- The main principles of meta-analysis as a new method for psychological research data integration and generalization are disclosed. Its steps and two main approaches are described; three examples from such spheres as gender differences study, interpersonal cognition, interrelation between emotions and creativity are given. The history of this method development, the dynamics of meta-studies for the past ten years, differences in the effects' assessment (in comparison with traditional statistical methods within the limits of particular studies), advantages and limitations of meta-analysis are described.
