Abstract

The notion of mentality as one of the most popular in modern Russian psychology is examined: its evolution, interpretation, main peculiarities, correlation with similar terms. The attempt to assign the basic components on mentality to which the author attributes: collective - memory, feelings, emotions and moods, norms, values, attitudes - as well as social representations; language; culture mental representations; style of thinking and social perception; behavioral patterns; national identity is undertaken.
