Abstract

New level of understanding of imagery experience in persons inner world is specifi ed on the basis of his/her sphere of mental images with due regard for interdisciplinary knowledge. Problems of conscious/ unconscious, self-knowledge, reserve resources of psyche, ontological status of images, social perception etc. are considered. Conception of translational function of sphere of mental images, responsible for unity of subjects contact with external reality and his internal world is introduced. This function is illustrated by different examples including culturological, the role of mental images in understanding of spiritual meanings, self-knowledge, personal and spiritual development and social reality refl ection.
