Abstract
Priority in development of methods of psychological assessment and designing of informational technics, afterwards named “usability”, is shown to be belonging to Russian science. It is noted that engineering – psychological assessment and designing of informational technics (IT), instruments and system of information display as well theory of efficiency and complexity of man’s action with IT were elaborated by Russian scientists in 60-80-th of XX-th century. In those days, methods of psychology, aesthetics and engineering were used complexly, and methods for quantitative assessment of usability were proposed and used in practice. Special attention was paid to transformational processes in staff training when types of IT were to be changed.
Keywords
engineering psychology, mutual adaptation of man and engine, transformation of work strategies, quantitative values of psychological factors of complexity, psychology of interaction, usability.
