- New notion – peasant mentality as cultural-and-historical phenomenon representing integrative characteristic of collective consciousness archetypical forms is introduced into categories system of historical psychology. Peculiarities of peasant mentality: nature-centricity, antinomity, value-meaning attitude to labour, existential character of world perception, specific social duality (collectivism–individualism) are revealed. The role of peasant mentality in Russian mentality basis forming is emphasized.
