Abstract

The author of the article examined the tendency, which was typical for scientific community of the second half of XIX с. in interpretation of psychology, when psychologists made an attempt to transform the science according to methodological principles of classical natural science. Psychology from the science the goal of which was to create the conditions for personality self-development became to turn into the brunch of natural science the goal of which was "economical efficiency" as an indicator of man's vital activity efficiency increasing. As the result psychology of the XX-th c., as well as natural science in whole, found itself in crisis the way out of which was integration of humanitarian and natural-science notions about subject and method on the basis of methodological principles, caused by humanitarian (in the first place, psychological) researches.
