- Abstract
- The results of empirical study of psychological structure of confidence are presented. Hypotheses about correlations between: (a) cognitive and personal components of confidence; (b) confidence and subject's cognitive-style organization, as well as possibility of confidence certain styles discrimination were verified. Computer method for visual signals' duration discrimination, general awareness test, self-confidence questionnaries were used. It was stated that: (1) self-confidence is correlated with confidence in knowledge as well as with reflectivity, field dependency, mobility, broad range of equivalence; (2) confidence in sensory experience is correlated with impulsivity, mobility (learning capability), narrow range of equivalence; (3) confidence in knowledge - with broad range of equivalence. Three factors describing different styles of person's confidence - "intellectual", "empirical", "controlling" were defined.
