Abstract

Contemporaneity of a great number Piaget’s theory theses is emphasized and the results of the latest researches, sorted with his ideas are discussed. The meaning of continuity principle, succession of development stages, universality and the presence of central tendency in cognitive development, egocentrism and animism of children’s and adult’s thinking are revealed. It is proved that Piaget’s ideas critique quite often is superficial whereas his theory – is creative source for further theoretic and empiric movement in psychology of development. Presentday data allows conducting more deep analysis of its meaning and allotting new discussion moments.
