Abstract

The question of compatibility between concept of mind continuality and contemporary knowledge of brain and neurons functioning is discussed. The problems appeared when neuron activity is considered as a discrete pro cess that produces non-disjunctive mind found to be misconception. There are presented theoretical and empirical data toward continual approach to all phenomena in case of neuron activity or mind consideraaation. It is asserted that whilhin the framework of systemic decision of psychophysiological problem the named problems do not appear because tlie psychological and the physiological are not referred direcdy but through systemic organism processes and the last ones cannot be reduced to separate neurons activity. The problem of continuality and discreteness is also considered within the framework of the theory of nonlinear dynamic systems. It is substantiated that development of behavior seemed to be discrete or inordinate in realization aspect is based on continual processes that considered to be self-organized systems. The authors suppose that psychophysio logical and psychological arguments presented speak volumes for continuality as an overwhelming principle describing vivo at all levels of organization.
