Abstract
Internet is considered as a new cultural space and its peculiar semiotic sphere is analyzed. There are presented the data obtained in self-image examination in users who are the main consumptive group of Internet culture and are called “Internet residents”. Peculiarities of Internet communication are considered as a new cultural means mediating the development of self-consciousness.
