Shadow function of official role is considered as degradation of social function of profession and essential feature of psychology of “actual” professional marginal. Professional mistake with social significance is considered as a system expression of the shadow function. There are discussed the theoretical and methodological aspects of these psychological phenomena, and the shadow function research paradigms are proposed. The possibilities to recognize professional mistake are analyzed.
