- Abstract
There are presented the results of social-psychological researches of the ethnic tolerance-intolerance in four multicultural regions of Russia: Rostov Province, Krasnodar Province, Stavropol Province (in Southern Russia), the Bashkiria Republic, the city of Samara in the Volga region, the Karachaev-Cherkes Republic. On the empirical data obtained in 16 ethnic group there were distinguished and described four strategies of intergroup interaction in multicultural conditions: (1) preserving one’s culture and accepting “alien” cultures. (2) searching for and defending one’s cultural science. (3) discriminating between people according to ethnic and confessional criteria. (4) search for social inclusion. The cross-cultural comparison of the strategies of intergrioup interaction between different ethnic and confessional groups (related to peculiarities of their ethnic identity and unique regional situation of interethnic interaction) is made. The new look at the processes of intergroup inter action and differentiation within the framework of system approach is proposed
