in course of experiment (about 1-1.5 hrs) 52 Ss of five groups (6-7. K-9. 10-1 1. 12-13yrs and adults) acquired the competence to play a strategic game of two players. Newly competent Ss were provoked to make free or expert judgements related to their knowledge about the game in a structured interview. The special algorithms were used to describe formally the .structure of indvidual knowledge (SIK) relevant the game. Among the descriptors of SIK two groups of variables specified SIK as semantic associative or semantic propositional networks were separated. For Ss aged from 6 to 13 yrs intuitive and rational characteristics of individual cognition were assessed by means of psychodiagnostic methods (cognitive styles) and Piagetian tasks. The significant correlations of ( 1 ) intuition with soniamic associative network; (2) rationality with semantic propositional network were found. Syntactic fonns and fraseological units of utterances were demonstrated to differ in free and experts judgements. The data obtained were interpreted in terms of phenomena of intuitive - rational. It may be infferred that "intuitive features" of free judgements were determined by actualization of SIK as semantic associative network whereas "rational features" of expert judgements — by actualization of SIK as semantic propositional network.
