- Abstract
By the example of the novel “Oblomov” by I.A. Goncharov the peculiarity of the formation of an archaic version of borderline personality structure under special conditions is analyzed. It is not characterized by an insatiable search of love and hazard as well as imbalance but by apathy, sluggishness, disability for purposeful behavior, voluntary regulation and lack of sustainable motivation. It describes the psychological and psychoanalytical mechanism of motivation disturbance related to an early satisfaction of any needs providing no activity to the subject on his own. It considers the connection of that personality structure with some pathological forms of behavior, identification, communication and development. It discusses the specific of a reader’s perception of the main character and the interpretation of his conduct.
