Abstract

The analysis of cultural processes that have become more evident in local groups in recent years is carried out. The main attention is paid to the peculiarities of identification of the northernmost group of Komi, the Komi-Izhemtsy. Their character of identification is presented as a kind of “identity swing”, when in a fairly short period of time people repeatedly and significantly change their understanding of their cultural identity with the group.
