Abstract

The article considers the formation of sociology and political science from the point of view of common historical roots and conditions specific to each science for the formation of the subject field. The author traces the ways of acquiring the status of independent areas of theoretical knowledge in sociology and political science. The author argues for the conditionality of the birth of sociology in Russia.
