Abstract
Ccording to Ya.A. Ponomarev hypothesis, creative problem solving proceeds several consequent stages from well-controlled and conscious algorithm-like processes to unconscious, intuitive processes. One of the key issues that can be discussed within the current hypothesis development is the question of executive control role at each stage of the solution, including the intuitive level. Current article contains the review of several experimental investigations of the creative problem solving processes via the cognitive monitoring method applying the probe-task during problem solving process. The possibility of using the probe-task error dynamics for evaluation of executive control role in creative or insight problem solving is discussed. Non-similar role of executive control in creative and algorithmized problem solving is shown, providing arguments in favor of the specificity of creative problem solving processes point of view. The fact of executive control inclusion into creative problem solving at each stage of the solution is demonstrated.
