- Abstract
- Studies of temperamental characteristics as predictors of subjective well-being parameters (mainly “hedonistic”) are restricted chiefly by the analysis of correlations of some characteristics of subjective wellbeing with extraversion and neuroticism. Psychodynamic characteristics as predictors of person’s subjective well-being (emotional and psychological well-being, satisfaction with life) are examined in the article. 250 persons aged 18 - 25 (M = 21.3, SD = 3.3) participated in the study. Data about correlations between characteristics of temperament and emotional well-being, psychological well-being and general satisfaction with life are summarized. Psychodynamic characteristics are shown to exert more substantial contribution to variations of emotional well-being (23% of variation) and conditioned variations of psychological well-being and general satisfaction with life to a less degree (9%).
