The results of empiric research of migrants’ parting with motherland conducting on territory of Penza region and Mordovia Republic are presented. Study of parting as a communication phenomenon sets forth principally new area of research in social psychology. Parting as a sociopsychological phenomenon manifests itself in destruction of habitual forms and conditions of meaningful communication and is acсompanied by changes in the character of interpersonal relations. Correlation between the intensity of nostalgic feelings and level of socio-psychological adaptation to new environment is expected.
