- The results of prominent Russian psychologist L.M. Vekker’s scientific work in the sphere of psychology of sense of touch are considered in the article. The main experimental data and ideas stated by L.M. Vekker in his definitive work summarizing the results of long-term studies – central chapters of collective monograph “Sense of touch in the processes of cognition and labor” (1959) – are analyzed. The results of L.M. Vekker’s studies of regularities of tactile image forming and human’s hand as a complex cognitive system are examined. Special attention is devoted to examination of L.M. Vekker’s original conception on mechanisms of psychic projection, objectification of psychic image outside substance of psyche
