- Abstract
- The results of empirical research of processes of fundamental and strategic organization of cognitive processes on the example of semantic tasks solving are presented. The Ss had to assess the presence of categorical or thematic correlations in stimuli pairs (“the apple-the fruit”, “the apple-the garden”). The introductive stimulus preceded the manifestation of each pair. There were used three types of preprocessing: categorical, thematic and neutral ones. The duration of preprocessing interval varied from 400 ms to 1200 ms. The data obtained showed that the assessment of thematic relations involves activity of fundamental organization of cognition only and assessment of categorical relations requires participation of decision making’ cognitive strategies. It is concluded that the nature of cognitive procedures of information processing differs in conditions of thematic and categorical relations.
