Abstract
On the base of the analysis of characteristics of discrete and continues processes there are defined the signs of their division. The existence of the paradox between nondisjunctivity (continues) of characteristics of mental processes, according to conception of A.V. Brushlinsky and discrete pulsed neuron processes is shown. When considering different ways of resolving of the given paradox the conclusion is made that division of the thinking into concrete and abstract one depends on the type of criteria. Characteristics and mechanisms of shaping of qualitative, abstract criteria of thinking are analyzed. It was suggested that abstract criteria of thinking should be formed outside the brain.
