- Abstract
An attempt was made in the paper to investigate the factor structure of formal-dynamic characteristics of the mind pertaining to the first and the second signalling systems. In order to solve this problem, the authors made use of special interference tests (Stroop color-word test and rank-ordering test), in which conflict interaction was created between meanings of words (i. e. verbal characteristics) and their physical (i. e. non-verbal) para meters. It was established that the formal-dynamic characteristics when performing inter ference tests (only speed characteristics were evaluated) are united non according to their assumed affiliation to the first or the second signalling system but can be described in terms of three independent factors; verbal-lexical (extra-signalling), visual-effective and imaginary.
