- Abstract
- A specific type of a choice is considered, that is "a choice is not to choose". The author distinguishes and analyzes two phenomenologically different forms of rejection of the choice that differ in their personal prerequisites, in the degree of the awareness of the choice, in the stability of its manifestation in life, and in their consequences for a person. Immature (impersonal) refusal is just an escape, or withdrawal, from choice, while a mature (subjective) choice not to choose is a consequence of a certain personal position.
