Almost in all cultures feast is an essential part of the religious rituals. It is especially true for Christian tradition where the image of feast is one of the key liturgical and cultural images. Eucharistical feast that is in the heart of Christianity was initially linked with the feast of love (agape). Thanks to to this link as well as the understanding of the Eucharist offering as a feast the idea of the carnal feast is "spiritualized" - any sharing of meal is seen as a "spiritual feast" too.
