- Abstract
- The article analyses semantic derivatives of monastic names (in the Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian and Polish languages and their dialects), as well as phraseology and paremiology with the use of these words. It highlights main features of the linguistic image of the monks: characteristics of their appearance, features of behavior, domestic order and so forth. Furthermore, similarities and dissimilarities in perception of the clerics in the aforementioned languages and cultures are stressed.
