Abstract

The article suggests a critical analysis of «topoi» in the «Tale of Boris and Gleb» and the legends of the St. Wenceslas cycle (such as the «Legend of Gumpold», «Legend of Nikolsky», «Legend of Christian», and others), identifi ed by N.N. Ilyin. It proves the assumption that the texts of the St. Wenceslas tradition could not have any signifi cant impact on the formation of the text of the «Tale».
