- Abstract
- The author analyses the current state of exploration of the problem of how power was divided between different categories of the nobility in the medieval Slavic Island of Rügen. It is pointed out that information from the sources usually cited in this context is often ambiguous. The author comes to the conclusion, that there is not enough evidence of why the priests of Sventovit (Svetovid) were granted with special political status.
