- Abstract
- The article focuses on the British vision of Romania's strategic role in 1916, that is on the eve and during the initial stage of its participation in World War One. The author analyses views, which found their expression on the pages of British governmental confidential documents, opinions voiced at the sessions of the Parliament and assessments of the British press in 1916 on the Romanian question. Distinct attention is paid to disputable aspects of British assessments and forecasts on the perspectives of Romania's membership in the Entente.
