Abstract

The article, based on the earlier unknown documents from the Russian archives, is devoted to the attempts of rebuilding of the Russian naval military base on the island of Poros (Greece), which were done during the reign of Alexander III for needs of the Russian Mediterranean ﬂ eet. Documents proving that Russian Bay (bought in 1827) belongs to Russia had been lost. For many years, enormous work had been done in the Russian and Greek archives, aimed at describing the old buildings in Russian Bay and revealing relevant documents.
